News from Friends of Bedale Community Library

After the success of the launch of the Friends group, we handed over a cheque for £2000 to BCL at the end of March. A few days later, to show Maggie and Nathalie our appreciation, a small group of HLIS volunteers, Friends and library users presented them with gift vouchers, flowers, chocolates and a bottle of wine each. We want the Library to continue to be the warm and welcoming place that they made it.

The Friends are organising two coffee mornings in the Library for Friends and Volunteers at 10am till 12 noon on Thursday 8 June and 6 July. These are not fund-raising events  but social ones, where Trustees, Friends and Volunteers can meet each other and swap ideas about how to keep the Library vibrant.

There will also be fund-raising coffee mornings in Patrick Brompton and Newton-le-Willows, with a bookstall and raffle as well as delicious home baking.

Schoolroom, Patrick Brompton, Saturday 27 May, 10am – 12 noon.

Village Hall, Newton-le-Willows, Saturday 19 August,  10am – 12 noon.
