The library will be open with our usual opening hours on Friday 22 December, after which we will be closed until 10am on Tuesday 2 January 2024. You may have noticed on your recent visits to Bedale community library that a barrier has been installed in the car park. This has been installed at the request of the tenants of Bedale Hall who struggle to find car parking spaces when coming to work.
The good news is that the barrier will be OPEN when the library is open, therefore when using the library you may park in the car park without restriction.

Need help with IT? From September Computer/IT drop in sessions are being offered in the library FREE for those just starting or people who wish to learn more. Ist and 3rd Wednesday of every month - 2.30 - 4pm.

On April 1, 2017 the library came into being, taking over the management of the library and continuing to deliver the services previously provided by North Yorkshire County Council. The county council continues to provide support but without the dedication of its volunteers to step up to the challenge, Bedale would have been without a library which forms such a vital part of the community.

What a day for the library! We extended our opening hours on 26 November to support the Bedale Christmas festival and as a direct result, we signed up 25 new members. We also had 11 children signing up for the Christmas reading challenge on the first day, so all in all a very busy day for our volunteers. Oh, and the Prime Minister popped in as well to say hello
